New Portsmouth Restaurant Reviews
Portsmouth is an upcoming vibrant city and we have recently noticed a serge in new quirky cafes, restaurants and bars around town.
If you are looking for a cafe during the cosy Autumnal months you would be silly not to make the most of The Coffee Cabin Southsea. Specialising in mainly there amazing cakes (both taste and flavour) made by a local business also @butfirstcake_.
They also have a large variety of gluten free, dairy free, soya free and vegan cakes so there is really something for every one. The seating is limited but it is located perfectly right near the beach, ideal to grab a takeaway to enjoy on the beach.
Coffee&Co Portsmouth has also been our favourite lunch spot since opening. It is just about coming up to their 1 year anniversary and we can see why it has been so successful. All their produce is fresh and supports local businesses, their main meat source comes from local butchers – ‘Real Country Butchers’ and their cakes are supplied by the creative and master of trade @_cocos_bakery_. They have a cosy inside or you they offer take away’s if you want to eat at home, are visiting for a quick lunch break or fancy a change of scenery but not change of food.
The Briny is a beautiful beach front restaurant which really highlights the best parts of Portsmouth. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner or even a beautiful pit stop for a drink. The Briny has a very sophisticated feel, the menu is mainly fish as they are a beach front restaurant this is fitting.
We have visited a couple of times now, once for a drink and once for food. When there for dinner we ordered the chilli squid to start, unexpectedly it came out cold however it was lovely none the less. For main I ordered the special which was hake in a prosecco and lemon broth served with crispy pancetta and peas. I would always recommend the special as this is usually fresh on the day.
