Day 1: Exploring the Quarters & Visiting a Hidden Gem
The Latin Quarter is without question an absolute must on your Parisian itinerary. The neighbourhood harbours a sophisticated, classical vibe that puts you in a lovely frame of mind. The careless strolling through open-air markets and absorbing the rich café culture.
We strongly recommend the Panthéon: an incredible landmark with a deep history; housing the remains of incredible late figures like Victor Hugo or Marie Curie.
Our hidden gem? A tiny church called Saint-Étienne-du-Mont, where you can find the golden tomb of Sainte-Geneviève, the patroness of Paris. It’s a gorgeous sight to see: the echoing church chambers and immaculate artworks are hard to forget.
Day 2: Exploring Montmarte
Nothing like a change of scene on the second day: Montmarte is the place to visit next on your itinerary; it’s got it all. A compact, charming neighbourhood perched on top of a small hill: it’s the most famous Parisian district.
In spite of the hustle and bustle, Montmarte has never lost its village-like charm, and the community comes to life every afternoon.
But Montmarte isn’t just for strolling. We really urge our readers to visit the the Sacré-Cœur basilica. It’s a masterpiece. A graceful, elegant 19th century landmark of the old Romano-Byzantine style; the basilica houses the largest (and most beautiful!) mosaic in Paris – around 480 m²!
The public garden boasts an unobstructed view of Paris that needs to be seen to be believed.
Day 3: Disneyland Paris
We see this place as an absolute must on any Parisian itinerary. It’s a wonderful mixture of exciting and exhausting; a giant hit across Europe and attracting millions of visitors per year, Disneyland Paris offers an unforgettable day out for all travellers, young and old.
For the youngsters, there are gentle rides that go easy. For the older children who need a bit more action, Adventureland and Discoveryland will offer them some serious thrills and exhilarating rides.
Disneyland, to us, is a complete sensory experience: the smells from the food-stalls, the sights and sounds of the parades…light shows that dazzle!
Euro Disney is located around 20 miles, or 32km east of Paris. It consists of two parks: Disneyland Park, Disney Studios, and also Disney Village. Day 4: You Can’t Miss the Louvre
At the risk of gatekeeping, we don’t believe a trip to Paris is quite complete without a visit to the Louvre. It is truly bucket-list material, and we urge anyone to take some time out of their travels to visit.
Located within the Louvre Palace, the gallery hosts an immense display of precious paintings and artefacts. Give yourself plenty of time; no less than half a day! The Louvre harbours eight separately curated departments that offer their own magic.
And yes, the Louvre means Mona Lisa. If the masterpiece doesn’t encourage you to tick this off your itinerary on the fourth day, we don’t know what will.
